CHSI Participates in “Shaping the Future” at CICA

Tucson played host to more than 500 captive insurance representatives, including 100 first-time attendees (captive owners, potential captive owners, captive managers, risk managers, domicile regulators and officials, and service providers) at the CICA 2019 International Conference.

In support of the conference’s agenda, which offered educational and networking opportunities, the theme of this year’s domicile-neutral conference, “Captives: Shaping the Future,” focused on emerging risks and preparation for future business requirements with the best talent and technologies.  As a representative from CICA said, the “broad array of issues addressed by captives reflects the industry’s maturity and growth.” For this year’s meeting, these issues included health insurance solutions, cannabis, cyber security, and big data.

Leading industry experts covered an array of additional topics, including captive basics and best practices, international insights, workers compensation and disability in captives, commercial auto in captives, enterprise risk captives, cyber liability, claims management and loss reserving, corporate governance, regulatory hot topics, risk retention groups, blockchain, student essay contest finalists, Latin American captives, global issues, and more.

The CHSI team was on hand to greet new friends, strengthen bonds with existing CICA 2019 BoothGiftcustomers, and provide information on CHSI Connections® as well as the new Connections Captive Manager system. We’d also like to add a shout out to Kim Dietrich-Suggs, director of captive insurance in Ryan LLC’s Scottsdale office, who stopped by the CHSI booth and found out she had won the CHSI Technologies Chromebook giveaway. (Kim is pictured at right with CHSI Technologies’ board member Joe Burgess.)

We urge those of you who subscribe to Captive Review magazine to check out a special two-page article written by Joe, who tied into CICA’s conference theme by describing the importance of being able to recognize when a new technology becomes a practical and important resource that will improve overall operations, promote growth and prepare this special class of companies for the future.
